Welcome from Pastor Mark Vander Tuig
(listen) "Thank you for visiting. It's good to have you along! This website is one of the ways we help you on your journey, and help you find a balance of worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and mission in your faith walk. You’ll find all sorts of information about who we are and what we hope to do in our ministry here at Lutheran Church of the Cross. More than anything, we are simply trying to follow Jesus in the days ahead and to be thankful and truthful in the kingdom of God. If this website can help you, we'd be glad to have you check us out. If you live in our area or are visiting the area sometime, please stop by. You can call for directions and we will be glad to bring you right to the front door so you you can join with us in worship. For now we are grateful to have you check us out on the pages of this website and if there is any way in which you think we may be able to help you in your journey, in your faith walk with Jesus Christ, you let us know and we'll do what we can." Pastor Mark Vander Tuig
We are ready! As a congregation, we are committed to finding new ways to respond to the spiritual needs of people today. The Good News of God's love in Christ is always new and renewing. We are ready to help you remember, renew or begin a living relationship with God in Jesus Christ.
We are alive! The Good News of "Life" in Jesus' name is too good to be boring or mundane. We worship with a sense of celebration and anticipation of the great things that God will do in our lives!
We are growing! Since our beginning in 1985, we have made a commitment to grow. As we worship and study, we grow in faith. As we pray and plan, we grow in our vision for ministry. As we witness and worship, "The Word" is extended and we grow as a community of faith. And we have grown! 95% of our people have joined since 1990!
